Aline Kamakian

A food passionate, Aline Kamakian began her career as an insurance broker at the age of 18 to put herself into college. Graduated from Université Saint Joseph with a double major in Masters in Finance and Marketing, Aline’s skills as an insurance broker allowed her to build one of Lebanon’s top 9 Brokerage Firms IIC – Insurance & Investment Consultant.

All through her successes, Aline never forgot her love for food but most importantly she never forgot her Armenian roots!

She opened in June 2003 “Mayrig” an avant gardiste traditional Armenian restaurant to introduce to all those who appreciate homely, healthy and tasty food, the forgotten flavors of Ancient Armenia.

Since then, Aline has ventured into new concepts, Catering in 2004, Batchig in 2013, Made by Mayrig in 2014. She opened new branches of Mayrig in Dubai in 2013 and in Riyadh in 2016; with more projects to see light by the turn of the year…

Aline concentrated most of the years 2010 and 2011 to co-writing her first cook book “Armenian Cuisine” where her research for traditional recipes took her on a journey to Cilicia, present day Eastern Turkey, the ancient Armenia that her grandparents fled following the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

Aline was also voted Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 in the BLA – Brilliant Lebanese Awards organized by BLC bank. She is a board member of the Lebanese Franchise Association as well as a board member of the LLWB – Lebanese League of Woman in Business and a successful candidate of the 2014 Vital Voices Fellowship Program.

Salam Yamout

Salam Yamout is the Regional Director, Middle East for the Internet Society since November 2016, where she is responsible for heading the Middle East Regional Bureau and promoting access to the Internet for the benefit of people everywhere. 

Prior to joining the Internet Society, Ms. Yamout was the National Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) Strategy Coordinator at the Office of the Prime Minister of Lebanon.  She brings over 25 years of experience in the development and management of ICT systems and their impact on business, governments, and society at large.  She worked with industry leaders such as Cisco Systems, and International organisations such as the European Union and UNDP.

Ms. Yamout is founder and executive board member of the Lebanese Internet Center, Women in IT, and the Lebanon Chapter of the Internet Society.  She also serves on the board of various organizations including RIPE NCC (the Internet Registry for Europe, the Middle East and parts of Central Asia); MIT Enterprise Forum for the Pan Arab Region, and Lebanon for Entrepreneurs.

Ms. Yamout holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ecole Supérieure des Affaires (ESA) in Beirut and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona.

Eva Aouad Turk

Evelyne Aouad Turk (lovingly known as Eva) is the bubbly mother of two and Bassam's Turk other half. Eva has a degree in Political Science and Public Administration and a passion for Sports since her younger age.

In 1998, Eva became a founding partner in Sport Evasion and remained ever since a central player on the team. Starting 2010 she became a main coach behind the company's strategic growth plan and expansion, hence creating a "Sports Platform for CSR in Lebanon" and launching its first sub-brand, E Positive. E Positive is a Communication and Events Designer Agency with a corporate angle and social appeal. Its services focuses on CSR Campaigns and Participatory Corporate Events. 

In 2014 she participated in the US State Department "Sports Mentoring Program" and is ever since including a new Leadership dimension in sports activities with Women and Youth. 

Eva's interests include entrepreneurship, women empowerment, CSR, mentoring, and her hobbies are trekking, swimming, traveling and photography.

Eva's social involvement spread's on many fronts, she's on the Lebanese League for Women in Business board, a MEPI LAA member, a State Alumni member, a Mowgli Foundation member.

Asmahan Zein

Almost 46 years of experience in all kinds of services, from Airlines to Hotel Management Transportation & Logistics (27 years with Aramex), Mrs. Asma Zein started a new company in 2014 Crypta sal that signed for the franchise of (InfoFort LLC) 

Today, in addition to being Partner/General Manager of InfoFort Lebanon, Mrs. Zein is the President of LLWB (Lebanese League of Women in Business), Vice Chair of Ruwwad Al Tanmeya in Tripoli, member of the Steering Committee of UNGCL (United Nations Global Compact), and member of the American Chamber of Commerce - AMCHAM - Chapter Lebanon. Through the years and personally did participate in major social activities, in addition to different CSR projects (under Aramex/InfoFort)

Mrs. Zein was chosen by the Department of State in 2007 among other five Lebanese Business Women to participate in the Women Business Leaders’ Summit. She is never miss a chance to be among any group that is working to make the change in the community and for the good of the country.

Cynthia Abou Khater

Cynthia Haddad Abou Khater is a shareholder at Technica International, the family owned business, and is currently the Strategy Manager.

She has set the company strategy with the management team and is now working on the strategy execution based on the Balanced Score Card methodology by Dr. Norton & Dr. Kaplan.

Cynthia is also working with her family members on having a smooth succession from the G1 to G2 and developing a family & corporate governance.

Among the major projects she lead was changing the company logo and creating a corporate identity for the company, in addition to improving the company quality & safety management systems and work processes.

Prior to joining the family business, Cynthia worked as a Marketing Manager at Joseph Chacra & Sons, Warner Bros & New Line distributors in the GCC, where she planned and implemented campaigns including marketing, advertising, promotion and publicity for theatrical and DVD releases.

Cynthia started her career as an account executive at MCAA, a local advertising agency, where she worked on the launching campaign of LEXUS in the Lebanese market and on the re-introduction of TOYOTA under a new local distributor.

She is a member of the Lebanese League for Woman in Business (LLWB) and has a BA in Advertising and Marketing from NDU, and an executive MBA from INSEAD.

Cynthia is married with 3 kids, loves to dance and to travel around the world.

Karyl Akilian

Karyl played a fundamental role in developing, implementing and overseeing the execution of the strategy and marketing plans for We Initiative, the Women Empowerment program launched in 2012 by BLC Bank, which she now supervises. Since 2012, she has been a speaker in numerous international conferences (Dubai, Tanzania, Mexico, Colombia, China, Jordan…), has trained more than a dozen banks around the globe on how to develop a Women’s Market Program in addition to volunteer mentoring of regional and global banks in their journeys to developing their own women’s programs. In 2016, she was selected one of the Global Banking Alliance For Women network’s “all-star instructors” and further trained an additional 15 global banks on developing their women’s market programs. In 2015, she was elected board member of the Lebanese League for Women in Business due to her active role in the women empowerment scene, where she holds the function of Treasurer.

She serves as the Head of Brand Management at BLC Bank entrusted with the responsibility of leading the strategic planning process for the Bank's brands to build the brand equity. In 2016, she was the recipient of the AUB Computer Science Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award.

Karyl joined BLC Bank in 2006, and was heading the Product Development, which due to her leadership and vision developed pioneering products & services contributing to the positioning of the Bank as a major player in the market.

She holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and an MBA with emphasis in Marketing from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.

Dania George

ANDREE JAWICHE ZEENY

Andree’s professional career includes over 20 years of experience in the food and beverage and hospitality industries with local and international companies and nearly 4 years as a franchise consultant and franchisee with MatchPoint Network, a Canadian franchise consulting company, offering her services to the Middle East based clients. Today, Andree spends her time advising and consulting with entrepreneurs and investors to help them find the right franchise business and also helps individuals in their career transition so they can start on their own; she offers them orientation about franchising in general and helping them in their search for the right business opportunities.

In addition, she works as a free lancer providing financial and management studies for start-up businesses and personal wealth planning.  

Andree had a diversified career history between Lebanon and the UAE, that was challenging and enjoyable at the same time.

She started in 1985 as an accountant/cost controller at Juicy Burger, a Lebanese fast food chain, then took charge of the public relations department.

In 1992, she moved to Abu Dhabi and worked with Rotana Hotels, a regional hotel management company where she held many positions in the front office and accounting departments and worked as administrative assistant to the Rotana Hotels President & CEO.

In 2000, she was back to Lebanon with the pre-opening team of Gefinor Rotana Hotel and worked as well with Le Meridien Commodore as Financial Controller to end her career history with Beirut Marriott Hotel as Director of Finance in 2007.

She decided to take a break to raise her 2 lovely kids and to have some quality time for herself and her family.

In 2010, she was back to business and opened her free lance office and then in 2012 she became the first Franchisee to represent MatchPoint in the Middle East.

Andree finds a great passion in connecting business people to each other and help them fulfill their desire of business ownership and expansion.

She is a graduate in TS – Auditing and Expertise in Accounting. Joined the Lebanese Franchise Association in 2013 and she’s a member of We Initiative, The Blessing Foundation, WIF and LLWB.

BETTINA BASTINA

Bettina Bastian is Assistant Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at the ‘American University of Beirut’. She holds master’s degrees in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin and in Energy Science from the Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP), Paris and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne’ (EPFL). Bettina received her PhD in Strategic Management from the EPFL. Her primary areas of research are related to technology and innovation management as well as entrepreneurship in emerging contexts. As a consultant and trainer she has experience in business strategy, foresight, technology and innovation management, and corporate governance. CAROL ABOU JAOUDE

Mrs. Carol Abou Jaoude joined Bank Audi in 2004 as a coordinator in the steering committee in charge of establishing Bank Audi Syria and the Syrian Arab for Insurance. After a thorough rotation in Head Office Departments and Branches, she was assigned as Branch Manager on Mission in 2006 at Bab Idriss Branch before being appointed as Jal El Dib Branch Manager from 2008 till 2014. She assumed her position as Regional Manager for North Metn in 2015.

Mrs. Abou Jaoude earned her Diploma (DEA) in Political and Administrative Science from the Lebanese University in 2003. She has completed an internship program in ESCWA during 2003 in which she was involved in research related to gender issues (Gender Based Violence), contributed to several Research papers and participated in a number of workshops.

Carol has accomplished the executive educational program (Advanced Management Program) designed jointly by Bank Audi and AUB with the objective to provide participants with tools to: Effectively lead and manage people, embrace and drive change initiatives, create and deliver customer value, gain the confidence to make decisions needed to succeed, be exposed to different functional areas and core banking topics.

Born and raised in the UK, but living in Beirut for twenty years with her Lebanese husband and two children, Charlotte Hamaoui connects her two cultures with confidence and relish.   Running an award winning boutique trade-publishing company, Turning Point, for over fifteen years, has been a creative and entrepreneurial challenge. It has also given her an absorbing insight in to the Middle Eastern culture, as many of her titles are either of a Lebanese or Gulf theme.  In recent years, the company has been developing a successful list of Arabic and bi-lingual English Arabic titles for children.

In 2006 and 2007, Mrs. Kiame Kari worked as an assistant fund manager on several regional funds representing USD 1 Billion in assets under management, covering fifteen Arab markets.
