Women Entrepreneurship in Lebanon's Formal Private Sector: a gender focused Investment Climate Assessment (ICA)

The World Bank conducted an Investment Climate Assessment in Lebanon, surveying more than 350 registered firms from the manufacturing, exporting, services and IT sectors.
Based on preliminary findings from female-owned firms, the World Bank plans to conduct a gender-focused ICA in Lebanon.
The brainstorming workshop was the first in a series of sessions, meetings and focus groups that will support the core survey.
The objective of the workshop was to bring together key stakeholders to brainstorm and discuss relevant issues pertaining to Lebanon, the scope of the study and to identify key entities.
The participants were female business owners experienced in launching and operating a business in Lebanon, academics and experts on women's issues in Lebanon, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, bankers and representatives of business associations.
