In line with one of its objectives to highlight the role of women in business as focal improvement of a country’s economic development and growth, LLWB held its second of a series of lectures to potential entrepreneurs and working women on “Starting a business: from the validation of an original idea to the creation of a business enterprise”. The event was attended by a selected group of qualified professionals and high profile businesswomen from different sectors.
The core topic: "How to validate a business idea" was presented by Tarek Kettaneh, AUB lecturer and Finance and Turnaround Consultant, who shared with the audience methods to validate a business idea and to recognize and implement a winning or a promising business project.
He also tackled the obstacles facing any entrepreneur in the management of a new venture and the questions one should ask herself to evaluate her entrepreneurial potential.
The lecture and discussions were followed by a panel of three successful women entrepreneurs from diverse industries. The panel hosted Sawsan Wazzan Jabri, founder of the well-known Diet Center and Diet shops, Maya Bekhazi Noun, CEO Ventures International Ltd. And business starter of several successful restaurants among which the Cellar & Fiona's and Hanan Saab, founder and Managing Director of Pharmamed, a well-recognized healthcare supplier in Lebanon. They talked about their experiences while founding their businesses and realizing their professional goals.
LLWB's next seminar will be of great interest to women in general for it will tackle the important "Work-life Balance" issue that many working women are facing in their daily life. These events are part of LLWB's Speakers Bureau Program funded, in part, through the Department of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, office of Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) under Cooperative Agreement, in cooperation with The Rady School of Management, Beyster Institute Program in San Diego.
LLWB thanks all the participants and partners and invites all to check the calendar of upcoming seminars and workshops on the association's website: www.llwb.org.
