TESTIMONIAL
“Before joining LLWB, I used to have a prejudiced opinion about the big majority of Lebanese women as depicted in the media, featured in the people magazine or on some websites, as spoken of in the mouth of many Lebanese and non-Lebanese people I was meeting on different types of occasions.
And I came to realize that our reputation was in stake but partly true for the Lebanese woman was poorly or badly represented and portrayed.
Then, right when I was about to start believing that this stereotype was the sad reality of how we were looked at, I started meeting, within LLWB and through it, true women!
Not the type you would find at every corner for they're too busy to show around, but the one that has been shying away from media scenes, the ones who works in silence and with perseverance, the ones that are equally beautiful on the inside as on the outside, the ones that are bright, intelligent, witty, accomplished...the listening and caring mother, the supportive wife constantly resourcing her energy to be the wind beneath her partner in life, the hard-working business lady, the exceptionally creative mind, the socially-engaged activist, the survivor that had to rebuild her life and that of her family a thousand times during war, the low key achiever who never thought claiming fame for anything but yet who did small miracles in her community and for her colleagues and family, the respected and loved managing director, the ambitious and talented young executive that is fighting against the same stereotypes in her workplace as to demonstrate her capacities without having to use her charms...
Then I realized that in fact such women were a big majority but that the society and perhaps their own modesty prevented them from getting the recognition and tribute they ought to have.
So, as you see...for me there's a mindset before LLWB and a brand new one, positive, encouraged to go on, against all odds, after I joined LLWB. That's my personal intake.
Today I can look up at the Lebanese woman and find in her a big foundation for the future of this country, I saw her leadership potential and I’m convinced of her skills.
If I was the President of this country, I would have made it my top mission to give her the full rights she deserves, to put her in decision-making positions and on a pedestal for standing still in times of turmoil, better than men ever did.”
