Lebanese Women Angel Fund (LWAF)

The Lebanese Women Angel Fund is a program that was developed in partnership between Insure & Match (IM) Capital, LLWB and Go Beyond investing. The program was launched on July 7, 2017 and aims at creating an investment fund by women and for women.

Throughout this program, a maximum of 35 identified female investors will gather and learn further about angel investment through a number of courses over a one-year period, delivered by international expert business angels and coaches from Go Beyond Investing. 

Multiples of entry tickets are pooled from each of the female investors into a special purpose vehicle (SPV) with investment tickets of $50,000 to $100,000 which would be used for investing in qualifying pitches.

Female entrepreneurs are pre-screened and prepared to present their pitches during investment meetings organized every 6-8 weeks. By end of year, three to four investments would be made of an average of $50k each.

In 2017, a total of 23 female angel investors took part of LWAF, each contributing an amount of $10,000. The total amount of $230,000 was matched by iSME resulting in a fund of $460,000. Four women-led businesses were funded during the first year of LWAF.
